Summer of 2009 in the Cape Begins
(North Truro MA) – It started out quiet the craziness. Bill and Vicky left really early and got hung up in massive traffic problems on the TZ so called Ginny at 3:15 AM to warn her. From there the scramble to meet up with Peg and John began. Eventually the caravan left Nyack area at around 4:45 AM but in the end the bridge was clear and the run to the cape was pretty uneventful.
The weather was spectacular. Sunny, slight breeze and a solid 73 degrees all day. The judge gave it a 9.75 (NS) down from a perfect 10 only because of the late night emergence of bugs. Most of the day was spent setting up ‘camp’ with the normal traditions. John and Tom and Peg ran down to Pamet to get the boat in the water. Dan and Ella spent much of the day on the jet ski. The men moved the moorings around in the bay.
Afternoon naps worked their way into everyone’s day due to the early rising. It was overall a quiet day as there are a lot less families this year for various reasons. The girls arrive on Sunday after spending the day at the swim meet in the Poconos.
The ‘hot dog’ water raft after many years of service may have to be retired due to a hole on one side. Repairs will be attempted on Sunday. John and Tom relished in the Yankee 5-0 win over Boston (See FNY blog). Peg made chili for dinner and as usual it was great. Bill got a permit to ride the jeep on the beach and everyone had fun with a couple of runs. The sunset was a nice one to start the vacation.

glad to hear you all arrived safely
cant wait to join you next week
see you then

I can’t wait to get up there! The girls look like they are having a blast. Weather isn’t the greatest in NY right now. Just got back from flying and had to cut it short due to cloud cover. See ya guys Monday night!
